Authorizing Legislation: The total budget authority for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) including Special Statutory Funding for Type 1 Diabetes Research is authorized under Sections 301 and 401(a) of the Public Health Service Act and 42§241 and 42§281 of the U.S. Code. The FY 2012 enacted amount is $1,944,905,000 and the FY 2013 budget estimate is $1,942,107,000.
