Ms. Jackson is originally from the Silver Spring, MD area where she graduated from Montgomery Blair HS. Ms. Jackson then attended Montgomery College where she was awarded a management certificate. She began her federal career at the NIH with the National Eye Institute in 1980, while still a student in high school. She worked for the National Eye Institute for 20 years. Ms. Jackson left there in 2001 for a promotion with NHLBI as an Intramural Office Manager, where she remained until 2006. She was then promoted to a Supervisory Staff Assistant, with NHLBI.
On a personal note, Ms. Jackson has two teenage sons, ages 17 and 18…Marcus and Alonzo. Most of her family is in the Gaithersburg area, where she has resided for more than 30 years. Alonzo attends Montgomery College and Marcus will graduate from Gaithersburg HS in June 2011. Ms. Jackson enjoys reading, cooking, music, spending time with family and friends, and she loves the beach. She also enjoys traveling and working on small projects around the house. One of her goals is to learn Spanish.
