As African Americans, we’re at a greater risk for kidney failure than other communities. So how can we work together to improve kidney health?

Hi, I’m Dr. Griffin Rodgers, Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases at NIH.

Working with your faith leaders, you can introduce our Kidney Sundays Toolkit in your place of worship.

The toolkit has everything you need to start the discussion and help raise awareness about kidney disease, including:

  • print material on kidney disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure
  • talking points for faith leaders to lead a group discussion
  • and tips for healthy eating
You can also use the toolkit to talk to your friends, family, and community groups about kidney health.

For the link to the Kidney Sundays Toolkit, follow us on  Twitter @HealthyMoments. This is Dr. Griffin Rodgers with the NIH.
