Research Statement:

Time-resolved absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy are used to study the dynamics of protein structural changes. Kinetics are initiated both by rapid mixing and by using short laser pulses to either produce photochemistry or to change solution conditions. Molecular models for the protein dynamics are used to fit, analyze, and interpret the measured data.
