Responsibilities & Activities

As a Program Officer, I am responsible for overseeing the Division’s R13 program and serve as a KUH liaison for the for the Office of Minority Health Research Coordination Diversity Supplement Program.

Additionally, I serve as KUH Clinical Trials Specialist supporting multi-center trials that require Consortium Monitoring Boards (DSMB). I provide clinical trials protocol consultation and collaborate with Program Directors, Principal Investigators Program Scientists, DSMB, OSMB, and EEP members to:  

  • coordinate and prepare for consortia meetings;
  • review Conflict of Interest (COI) process;
  • review active study reports, produce DSMB executive summaries and communicate with investigators;
  • and develop SOPs, clinical trial guidance and resources for consortia members and program staff.

My background includes anthropology, public health, clinical trials management, prevention health, rural and community health, impact of structural racism, health equity, health disparity, SDOH and community and patient engagement. I have a passion for applying social science and public health methods to biomedical research to improve patient outcomes and scientific research. I also provide extramural portfolio analysis and evaluation as needed.
