Responsibilities & Activities
As a program director in the Division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition, I oversee Career Development (“K”) awards related to digestive diseases, nutrition, and obesity. In addition, I manage the Silvio O. Conte Digestive Disease Research Core Centers (DDRCCs). I also manage a portfolio in organ and tissue donation, a small grant program and partnerships with professional societies to develop the scientific workforce, a mentoring program for early career individuals, and oversee a training/travel awards program in partnership with medical organizations that aims to support early career investigators interested in pursuing biomedical research and academic medicine careers.
