Responsibilities & Activities

In addition to serving as an Acting Co-director of the NIDDK Office of Obesity Research, I am a Program Director for special projects in nutrition and obesity research. This research program includes the evaluation of ‘natural experiments’ or public programs and policies intended to prevent or control obesity, the development of methodologies to improve assessment of dietary intake and physical activity across the lifespan, approaches to screen for and address adverse social determinants of health in obesity prevention and treatment, and behavioral interventions during pregnancy and the post-partum period. I also manage the NIDDK Nutrition Obesity Research Centers (NORC) Program.
